Explanation :

Here the resistance of circuit is controlled using potentiometer. The resistance of the potentiometer can be changed by rotating it. If resistance is less the led will glow brightly .If resistance is more the current reduces and led glows dimly. Hence using a potentiometer, led and battery ,brightness of light can be controlled.
